What does “Contemporary Life” mean to you?
Although many choices are looming with increasing speed due to the development of functions, cultural exchanges through food with friends from neighboring countries are increasing in depth with these functions.
As people living in East Asia today, we share a common understanding with our friends in neighboring countries with no time lag, but when we go there, we still have frequent opportunities to learn about unfamiliar cultures, and we can encounter dishes from books I saw in my childhood and the landscapes that include those dishes.
Even today, traveling is an irreplaceable part of my life.
I am quietly waiting for the opportunity to share with my friends near and far, and with those who read my book, through food, sweets, and tea, the memories of deliciousness, beauty, and comfort that I have accumulated while living in Japan.
Guided by the love and kindness within my heart, I want to share my joy through cooking.

What are the things you are thinking about lately?
Having grown up in Asia, I hope to continually engage in cultural exchange through food with my friends from neighboring countries.
I believe that exchange as city dwellers, with our unique identities rooted in our historical backgrounds and cultural ties, is an important means of enriching our understanding, respecting each other, and fostering mutual respect and empathy.
I also strongly hope that the world will always be a place where the socially vulnerable and children can live in health and peace.
